Opening and using of packaging is a problem for many a consumer. Especially for elderly and people with disorders. During the 50+fair 65 elderly took part in an experiment on the opening of various packaging, and on readability of the 'best before' date.

Results: Some of the packaging could not be opened. The most difficult were blisters, jam jars, cassette tapes and fruit juice packaging. One third of the 'best before' dates could not be found or be read. We set up some rules for user friendly packaging design.
